Job summary

Woolpert is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead Mission Critical Data Center HVAC projects, oversee scope and schedule, and mentor staff. You will model airflow, perform load calculations, and coordinate design across disciplines to ensure code-compliant, high-quality deliverables.

The role requires PE licensure, 3+ years in related HVAC design, and strong communication skills. Travel to project sites/offices may be needed. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MA/MS in a related field.
• PE certification is required.
• Experience designing building HVAC for commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, aviation, hospitality, or high-rise.
• Familiarity with LEED or Green Building Institute credentials.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Revit and coordinating design documents.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Mission Critical HVAC and mechanical systems for data centers.
• Model airflow and cooling using CFD and 6Sigma.
• Perform cooling load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present design options.
• Lead QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverables.
• Mentor staff and conduct internal training.
