Job summary

Northrop Grumman – Launch Vehicles Division in Chandler, AZ, seeks a Systems Engineer Level 5 - Airframe IPT Lead to guide multi-disciplinary teams in airframe design for hypersonic environments.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical design, program management, and mass targeting, with clear leadership across internal teams and external partners. Active Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Active US Government Secret Security Clearance required; SAP access possible.

Responsibilities

• Drive Mechanical Design Excellence: lead a team overseeing design, manufacturing, and test planning to ensure airframe maturity.
• Maintain central authority for Integrated Master Schedule and EVMS, balancing schedule, cost, and resources.
• Oversee mass allocation for kill vehicle mass targets and ensure design decisions meet targets.
