Job summary

Bechtel seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to lead the mechanical scope for large hydro projects, including underground powerhouse, tunnels, and surface facilities. The role emphasizes collaboration with design consultants, external stakeholders, and construction teams to ensure compliant, safe, and timely delivery.

The engineer will manage design criteria, equipment data sheets, and interface with OEMs, with travel as required for EPC execution and commissioning support.

Qualifications

• Requires BS (or MS) in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience in MEP design for large power/industrial projects.
• Professional/Chartered Engineer preferred.
• Experience with EPC execution and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for hydro facilities including underground powerhouse and surface facilities.
• Coordinate with Civil/Geotechnical, Architectural, and Construction teams.
• Interface with OEMs for integration and ensure safety in design.
