Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Control Systems Senior Engineer for a large hydropower project in Phoenix, AZ. You will oversee instrumentation and controls for powerhouse and balance of plant, contributing to design development, interface management, and commissioning.

You'll collaborate with design consultants and stakeholders, review deliverables, and support safety, quality, and compliance with ISA/IEEE/ASME standards, with travel as needed and an emphasis on underground facilities.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering from a recognized institute.
• 15 years overall experience; 5+ years in control systems for hydropower or large projects.
• Professional/Chartered Engineer preferred; EPC execution experience.
• Familiar with CAD and common office software; knowledge of ISA/IEEE/ASME standards.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and work in a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Review control system design criteria, instrument lists, and DCS designs.
• Coordinate with Civil/Geotechnical, Mechanical, Electrical, Plant Design and Constructability.
• Interface with OEMs for control system integration into powerhouse systems.
• Provide construction & commissioning support, including RFIs and field changes.
• Support underground construction sequencing and safety in design for pumping storage.
