Job summary

Sterling Industrial LLC. is seeking a Mechanical BOP Project Engineer to lead design reviews, coordinate mechanical scope interfaces, and drive constructability for a large hydro EPC project in Phoenix, AZ.

The role requires strong knowledge of mechanical systems, OEM coordination, and experience delivering powerhouse and BOP content on major power projects. You will work with engineers, designers, and construction teams to ensure objectives are met safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in MEP construction for large power/industrial projects, supporting powerhouse or BOP systems on at least two EPC power projects.
• Proficient CAD experience and ability to review design criteria and equipment data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and estimate coordination for mechanical systems and equipment (tunnel filling, dewatering, cooling water, HVAC, fire protection, etc.).
• Coordinate mechanical scopes with civil/geotechnical and architectural teams; interface with OEMs for integration.
• Support construction sequencing, testing, commissioning, and handover to Owner operations; ensure constructability in estimates and plans.
