Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering, coordination, and technical oversight for the mechanical scope of a major hydro EPC project in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports design development, interface management, constructability, and construction/commissioning activities.

You will collaborate with design consultants, subcontractors, OEMs, and Bechtel teams to manage interfaces between powerhouse, underground works, and surface facilities, ensuring compliance with codes and

Qualifications

Professional/Chartered Engineer preferred.
Knowledge of CAD, AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel for managing design reviews.
Broad knowledge of US government compliance standards.
Strong knowledge of hydropower auxiliary and BOP systems.
Familiarity with EPC execution, engineering workflows, and document control systems.
Experience supporting commissioning and handover to Owner operations.

Responsibilities

Perform and review mechanical design for systems including cooling water, ventilation, HVAC, and related equipment.
Coordinate designs with Civil/Geotechnical, Architectural and Construction teams.
Interface with OEMs for project integration.
Provide Construction & Commissioning support during execution, including RFIs and field change evaluations.
Review mechanical deliverables for compliance with customer requirements and codes.
