Job summary

McKinstry in Seattle is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead system design, coordinate between internal and external stakeholders, and own deliverables across projects. You will mentor engineers, manage scope and budgets, and drive performance gains through energy-conscious design and multi-discipline coordination.

Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools, strong collaboration with design and construction teams, and a track record of delivering complex building projects are essential.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Energy modeling experience preferred.
• Five years of experience in 2D/3D AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, VBA, Python, InDesign, IES-VE, and/or other software tools welcome.
• Engineering in Training Certificate preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads system design and coordinates between internal and external stakeholders.
• Manages project deliverables and team workload to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts.
• Directs production of design drawings and BIM content for construction.
• Attends regular design meetings with customers and external stakeholders.
