Job summary

McKinstry seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to head mechanical system design in Portland. You’ll coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget project deliverables while guiding a team of engineers.

Under supervision of senior staff, you will perform analyses, drive design decisions, and advocate for energy‑efficient solutions. PE certification is required, LEED preferred. Onsite construction experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer registration is required.
• Eight (8) years of experience in engineering design or related field preferred.
• Onsite construction experience is welcomed.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
• Knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical system design efforts and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
• Delegate design tasks and manage project deliverables.
• Mentor project engineers and train the team.
