Job summary

Jabil in the United States is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive complex liquid cooling hardware from concept through production. You will mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and ensure milestones align with customer and business goals.

This role offers remote work within the US or onsite in Austin, TX, with relocation assistance for onsite candidates and a competitive salary plus bonus opportunities. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required; MSME/PhD preferred.
• 8+ years’ experience in mechanical design and/or verification; full product development lifecycle experience.
• Experience designing liquid cooling systems, thermal management solutions, heat exchangers, and related thermal-fluid components.
• Strong thermal design and analysis experience, including heat transfer, fluid flow, and system-level optimization.
• Experience leading complex product development programs from concept through production; remote team management is highly preferred.
• Prior people management experience is preferred; ability to lead across geographically dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with system architects to review and clarify design requirements and define mechanical/thermal architecture.
• Lead mechanical/thermal design of liquid cooling, thermal management, and heat exchanger products and components.
• Assemble prototypes, verify form/fit/function, and manage supplier/manufacturer input to roadmaps.
• Communicate technical aspects to internal and external customers; define design innovations and patentable solutions.
• Lead resolution of complex design issues and trade-offs; mentor engineers with less experience.
• Develop and validate complex mechanical products across Business Units; lead/supervise mechanical layouts and design reviews.
