Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Master Technician to lead a shop team, diagnose drivability, A/C, and electrical systems, and educate customers on solutions. The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years of automotive experience, and ongoing training to stay current with technology.

The Master Technician will mentor peers, maintain shop organization, and ensure safety and company policy adherence while delivering superior customer service.

Qualifications

• This position requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 8+ ASE certifications preferred (A1–A8).
• Section 609 Certification is required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Pre-employment background check must be completed.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of Technicians A/B and other general roles as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and required repairs to customers in clear terms.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques via formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop; adhere to policies and safety rules.
