Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks a Counsel to lead complex product liability, mass tort, and toxic tort settlements from negotiations through resolution. The role requires extensive experience in high-volume settlements and contract drafting, with oversight of claims administration and governance.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with plaintiffs’ counsel, manage teams of paralegals and attorneys, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements, while driving efficient settlement programs.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active Bar in good standing.
• 8+ years of substantial mass tort experience, including litigation at a firm.
• Experience negotiating and implementing large-scale settlements.

Responsibilities

• Lead settlement negotiations in product liability, mass tort, and toxic tort matters.
• Develop settlement structures, eligibility criteria, and governance.
• Direct teams to review claims, resolve disputes, and finalize documents.
• Manage data analysis of claims values and trends across settlements.
• Oversee settlement implementation, workflow, and QA.
