Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking a highly qualified Counsel to lead and manage complex product liability, mass tort, and toxic tort settlements. The role involves negotiating large-scale settlements, drafting and reviewing settlement documents, and coordinating with plaintiffs’ counsel to ensure efficient, compliant closure of claims.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the local state Bar, or eligible to waive in.
• 8+ years of significant experience in mass torts, including at least 3 years of litigation at a law firm.
• Experience negotiating and implementing large-scale settlements and knowledge of settlement governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of complex product liability settlements from negotiations to final resolution.
• Develop settlement structures, eligibility criteria, and settlement documents.
• Coordinate with plaintiffs’ counsel to finalize settlement-related agreements.
• Manage teams of paralegals and attorneys for claim qualification and categorization.
• Analyze claim data to identify trends and oversee claims administration and workflow.
