Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks a highly qualified Counsel to lead product liability, mass tort settlements from negotiations to closure, working with firm Partners.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in mass torts, a JD, and active bar admission, with experience drafting settlement documents, managing teams, and data-driven claims administration. This role reports to partners and oversees complex negotiations and governance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the state Bar.
• 8+ years of significant mass tort experience, including litigation at a law firm.
• Experience in claims resolution, preferential focus on pharmaceutical/mass torts.
• Ability to manage multiple teams and work streams.
• Familiarity with matter management systems and claims platforms.
• Experience drafting and negotiating settlement documents.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support settlement negotiations in complex matters.
• Help develop settlement structures and eligibility criteria.
• Serve as primary legal/operations lead for settlement execution.
• Draft, review, and finalize settlement documents with plaintiffs’ counsel.
• Manage nurse paralegal and attorney teams to review claims.
• Perform data analysis on claims, trends, and settlement values.
• Oversee settlement implementation, claims administration, workflow, and QA.
