Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking a Counsel attorney to lead and manage all aspects of complex product liability, toxic tort, and mass tort settlements from initial negotiations through final claim resolution and program closure. The role requires extensive experience handling large-scale settlements for thousands of claimants.

The ideal candidate will draft settlement documents, direct teams, and coordinate with plaintiffs’ counsel while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and settlement

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the AZ Bar or eligible to waive in.
• 8+ years focused on mass torts with litigation and settlements experience.
• Experience negotiating pharmaceutical/medical device mass tort settlements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex product liability, mass tort settlements from start to closure.
• Negotiate and draft settlement documents; resolve disputes and appeals.
• Direct teams of paralegals and attorneys on claims review and categorization.
• Oversee data analysis, claims administration, and settlement governance.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and firm policies.
• Collaborate with plaintiffs’ counsel and internal stakeholders to optimize outcomes.
