Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Technician Lead (1st Shift) in Gilbert, AZ to lead a crew on Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, ensuring on-time, safe, and quality production. You will train apprentices, manage inventory, and coordinate with other supervisors while upholding safety and company policies.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced shop environment. Prior manufacturing supervisory experience is valuable.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills.
• Time management skills.
• Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes in manufacturing.
• Critical eye for identifying defects.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in assembly processes.
• Ability to work independently and follow daily work schedules.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting/handling procedures.
• Must be able to carry/move equipment and supplies >40 pounds.
• Must be able to read/write in English.

Responsibilities

• Host a morning meeting with crew at start of shift to delegate work for the day.
• Review any job related issues or safety concerns.
• Ensure workers have proper material and tools and meet daily tasks.
• Train apprentices in job duties.
• Maintain quality inspections and report discrepancies to fabrication area.
• Coordinate daily tasks with other supervisors for clear communication.
• Manage inventory to prevent shortages and keep schedule.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain records.
• Provide leadership to supervise and motivate the team.
