Aegis Worldwide is proud to partner with a reputable manufacturing company based in Vandalia, OH in search of a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team! This opportunity is ideal for someone with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, 2+ years of engineering experience, and experience with product launches or communicating with customers! APPLY NOW!

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the resident Lead Manufacturing Engineer supporting North American manufacturing facilities, ensuring seamless alignment between product development and production readiness.
  2. Lead cross-functional product development teams in selecting, developing, and improving manufacturing processes and product designs.
  3. Oversee the successful launch of new products and programs by coordinating efforts between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.
  4. Collaborate with quality engineering to identify and define key product characteristics critical to performance and manufacturability.
  5. Drive the design and implementation of robust tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes that meet performance, quality, and cost objectives.
  6. Facilitate manufacturing system design workshops and document resulting improvements and cost savings.
  7. Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs), incorporating comprehensive risk analysis and control strategies.
  8. Lead process qualification, validation, and stabilization activities to ensure consistent and repeatable manufacturing outcomes.
  9. Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality, reducing cost, and increasing efficiency.
  10. Manage capital expenditure timelines related to tooling and equipment, supporting accurate capital forecasting and budgeting.
  11. Oversee the engineering change process for implementing product and process improvements.
  12. Support cost-saving initiatives across North American manufacturing plants by leveraging technical expertise and lean manufacturing principles.
  13. Travel extensively (45–50%) to North American sites during new product launches, and an additional 15–20% for ongoing support and optimization efforts.

Qualifications:

  1. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information across cross-functional teams.
  2. Demonstrated leadership experience guiding cross-functional product development teams through process selection, development, and continuous improvement.
  3. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  4. Advanced problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  6. Highly self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  8. Solid understanding and practical experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs).

Preferred:

  1. Previous work experience in the automotive industry or in an industrial/manufacturing engineering setting.
  2. Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling implementation.
  3. Background in plant operations or direct operations support.
  4. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
