Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Lead Mammographer to oversee shift operations, coordinate radiology services, and supervise staff under the Director of Radiology Services. The role supports high-volume imaging and requires ARRT certification, mammography credentials, and strong patient-care skills.

You will work in a fast-paced hospital setting with diverse patient populations, engage in quality and safety initiatives, and participate in ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

• Licensure and/or fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
• Current ARRT certification.
• Advanced certification in Mammography.
• Current experience as a radiology technologist.
• Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory standards.
• Ability to travel to all imaging facilities regularly and on short notice.
• Experience in HIS/RIS.

Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate shift operations of radiology activities, resources, and staff under supervision.
• Supervise staff in absence of manager/director.
• Promote teamwork and customer service excellence.
• Assist in annual staff evaluations and discipline.
• Participate in specialized radiographic imaging procedures requested by radiologists.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the Director of Radiology Services, the Lead Mammographer leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities, resources, and/or staff. Supervises staff in the absence of manager/director. Promotes teamwork and good customer service. Assists in annual evaluations and staff discipline. Actively participates in the performance of specialized radiographic imaging procedures which assist the radiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders. Participates in direct patient care, facility quality and safety initiatives as well as local and federal regulations. Assist with complex and sensitive patient and patient family issues. Ensures quality and safe delivery of care to patients of all ages.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Licensure and/or fluoroscopy permit as required by State.2. Current ARRT certification.

3. Advanced certification in the field of Mammography.

4. Current experience as a radiology technologist.

5. Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.

6. Current BCLS (AHA) certification.

7. Comprehensive Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory standards.

8. Ability to travel to all imaging facilities both regularly and without notice.

9. Experience in Hospital Information Services (HIS)/Radiology Information System (RIS).

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $38 to $57. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
