Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Shop Lead Technician to maintain and repair diesel engines, heavy trucks, pumping equipment and other energy services gear. This hands-on leadership role involves diagnosing issues, directing a team of technicians, and ensuring safe, efficient operations on a daily basis.

You will train new staff, lead briefings, create work orders, and uphold company safety standards while delivering reliable service to our customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.
• Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
• Good follow through ability; adheres to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
• Technical school certificate

Responsibilities

• Maintains, diagnoses and repairs a variety of equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions and drive train components.
• Trains and mentors new employees; guides team and ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Creates work orders and enters data into garage management system; leads tailgate meetings at shift start.
• Directs daily work of technicians and maintenance staff; ensures work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Upholds company policies and safety standards; participates in required safety meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
