Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to supervise a crew of technicians responsible for heavy-duty truck repairs and related equipment. The role emphasizes safety compliance with OSHA regulations and timely, quality work in a high‑volume shop.

The Lead will diagnose complex issues, coach junior technicians, and plan shop workloads while ensuring adherence to company safety standards and environmental rules. A CDL and ASE certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
OSHA Haz Com, OSHA Lock Out Tag Out and fire protection regulations experience a plus but not required.
At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus but not required.
ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) is a plus but not required.
Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain chassis components and refuse bodies, including hydraulic and electrical systems.
Service air and hydraulic braking systems and engines.
Maintain suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
Inspect and weld/ fabricate as needed for line maintenance.
Direct technicians to perform safe, efficient work and plan repairs.
Review third-party repairs for safety and compliance.
Diagnose complex issues using electronic tools and one or more diagnostic methods.
Mentor technicians and cover supervisor duties when needed.
