Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to direct a team of technicians in maintaining heavy‑duty trucks and refuse equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance with OSHA regulations, and high‑quality maintenance across chassis, hydraulics, brakes, engines, and HVAC systems. You will diagnose complex issues, coach teammates on diagnostics, and schedule work to minimize downtime while guiding line welding and fabrications as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience on heavy-duty trucks.
• Experience with OSHA Haz Com, Lock Out Tag Out, and fire protection regulations is a plus.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct technicians to ensure safe, efficient maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose complex repair issues and plan shop work to minimize downtime.
• Plan and schedule repair work for the group.
• Inspect third-party repairs for safety and compliance.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide coaching on diagnostics.
• Perform line welding and fabrication as needed.
• Maintain knowledge across chassis, hydraulics, brakes, engines, and HVAC.
