Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to guide a team of technicians in maintaining heavy trucks and refuse equipment to the company’s safety standards. The role covers chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and diagnostics for more advanced repairs.

The position includes coaching, scheduling repairs, and ensuring on-time workmanship while reducing downtime in the shop. A background in heavy truck maintenance with safety training is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Experience with OSHA HazCom, Lock Out Tag Out, and fire protection regulations is a plus.
• 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) is a plus.
• Class B or higher CDL is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Directs technicians to perform repairs and maintenance in a safe, timely manner.
• Diagnoses complex repair issues and coaches others on diagnostic techniques.
• Inspects repairs performed by third parties for compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
• Performs on-site and road repairs, line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Mentors technicians and may assume supervisor responsibilities when needed.
