Job summary

JLL in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a Lead Maintenance Mechanic to serve as a hands-on technical resource supporting building operations and safety. You will guide a maintenance team, manage work plans, and coordinate with management to drive reliability and client satisfaction.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, 5+ years of supervisory experience in building services, and proficiency with CMMS and building automation systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with technical competency in building engineering systems.
• Minimum 5 years of technical and supervisory experience in building engineering and maintenance operations.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the maintenance team, assign work orders, and conduct on-site inspections.
• Coordinate staffing schedules and oversee engineering and maintenance work across areas of responsibility.
• Manage vendor relationships, inventory control, and procurement processes for maintenance operations.
• Monitor performance metrics, prepare operations reports, and suggest improvements and capital projects.
• Respond to facility emergencies while upholding safety procedures and building standards.
