Job Description
In this role, you'll work closely with the Electrical & Maintenance Manager to develop maintenance strategies, coordinate department activities, and ensure our team operates safely and efficiently. This position is a 60/40 blend of leadership and hands-on maintenance, making it perfect for someone who enjoys both mentoring others and troubleshooting equipment firsthand.
What you will get to do:
Maintenance Technician Role (60%):
- Install new equipment and relocate existing machinery as needed.
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and implement both temporary and permanent repair solutions.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and repair press automation systems.
- Work with PLC and safety controls, troubleshooting and making necessary repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on production and non-production equipment (e.g., lubrication, filtration, power transmission components).
- Collaborate with team members and department leaders to maximize efficiency and meet company goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Team Lead Role (40%):
- Support the Electrical & Maintenance Manager in developing effective maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
- Assist in preventive maintenance planning and scheduling, tracking maintenance projects, and managing parts inventory.
- Coordinate daily department activities, prioritizing jobs to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operation.
- Guide team members in repairing mechanical and electrical equipment to meet production demands.
- Train and mentor new employees while supporting ongoing development for all department staff.
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for in you:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Technical School degree or certification
- 5+ years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience (formal or informal)
- Basic computer skills for tracking maintenance and scheduling
- Skilled in welding, plumbing, and machine repair, including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with injection molding machines, compression machines, or metal spinning machines is a plus.
- Knowledge of load-bearing properties of ropes, cables, hoists, and cranes.
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills—you're working with multiple departments.
