Job Purpose

To oversee and supervise all aspects of the maintenance, safety, and improvements of parish buildings and properties, including the church, school, rectory, and cemetery. Responsibilities include managing daily operations of facilities, coordinating volunteers, project planning, and ordering materials. The role works cooperatively with the pastor, Director of Parish Operations, staff, and volunteers to ensure an efficient, safe, and effective pastoral and educational environment.

General Responsibilities

Representative Responsibilities

• Maintain building systems (boiler, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) and equipment to ensure they are fully operational.
• Conduct daily walk-throughs to monitor equipment function, stock supplies, and perform repairs and cleaning as needed.
• Ensure rooms are prepared according to the facility use schedule.
• Supervise and perform lawn and grounds maintenance, snow removal, salt, and sanding.
• Manage cemetery grounds maintenance, including the mausoleum, and assist with entombments as needed.
• Assist with decorating the church for liturgical seasons.
• Maintain awareness of the presence of people on site, ensuring safety and security, including responding to alarms outside normal hours.
• Manage vendor contracts by soliciting bids, reviewing proposals, and coordinating with the Director of Parish Operations.
• Lead annual inspections by fire and insurance inspectors and address any deficiencies.
• Coordinate building repairs and renovations with the Director of Parish Operations.

Salary: $50,000 - $65,000
