Job summary

Post Brothers in North Bergen, NJ seeks a Maintenance Supervisor for Duchess Apartments. The role oversees on-site maintenance, leads a team, and partners with the Property Manager to ensure safe, well-maintained living spaces for residents.

You will manage preventive maintenance, coordinate with vendors, and uphold quality standards across building systems while delivering excellent resident service. Requires strong leadership, extensive maintenance and PM experience, and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Collegiate degree or equivalent trade school in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or related field.
• HVAC Certification preferred.
• 10 years maintenance, construction or PM experience.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience.
• Advanced knowledge of building and maintenance systems, inventory control and PM.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and life safety.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Leads, trains, and assigns work orders to maintenance staff.
• Assists in selecting staff and provides performance feedback.
• Participates in on-call rotations and handles emergencies.
• Leads inspections and prepares property for external reviews.
• Inspects vacant units and ensures timely turnovers.
• Manages work orders, priorities, and budgets.
• Maintains preventive maintenance schedules and records.
• Oversees subcontractors and quality of service.
• Ensures safety standards and maintains hazardous materials logs.
