Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring buildings, grounds, and common areas meet company standards for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.

You will diagnose and repair issues, manage make-ready tasks, maintain inventory, and support the community budget. A valid driver’s license and EPA certifications are often required; on-site work with residents and vendors is common.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law; knowledgeable in safe tool use.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to identify and correct problems.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills with residents and team members.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to represent management.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defects and perform repairs on community systems per policies and codes.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacant apartments and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of grounds, buildings, and common areas to reflect Greystar standards.
• Inspect work by others and contractors; ensure quality and cost control.
• Manage inventory and order supplies within budget; perform monthly preventative maintenance.
• Support budget development for repairs and capital projects; assist Community Manager.
