Job summary

The Franklin Group in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for The Arbors at Battlefield. The role oversees the maintenance team, coordinates on-site upkeep, and ensures safety and quality across grounds and buildings.

As part of a robust operations team, you will manage inventories, respond to work orders, and supervise internal and vendor tasks while maintaining professional standards and adherence to policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of related maintenance experience or training.
• HVAC certification is required.
• Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) is highly recommended.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, ordering and delivery of supplies for maintenance, custodial and grounds teams.
• Respond promptly to work orders and make-readies.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure OSHA standards and safety policies are followed.
• Rotate on-call responsibilities with other maintenance staff.
• Schedule and supervise in-house and vendor work.
• Schedule product reviews to avoid drop-in sales calls.
• Assist Community Manager in interviewing and screening staff.
• Train maintenance, grounds and housekeeping personnel.
• Research and evaluate current and potential products.
• Make disciplinary or promotional recommendations as needed.
• Analyze and resolve work problems and motivate staff.
• Supply and upkeep of tools; ensure professional appearance.
• Provide vendor/contractor communications on scheduling, billings and insurance.
• Maintain safe, courteous service and comply with company policies.
• Pursue educational opportunities for personal growth.
