Job summary

UniFirst in Avon, IN is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all facility equipment runs smoothly and to drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices. You will lead, train, and develop maintenance staff; oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, read blueprints, manage budgets, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

This role features a Monday–Friday core schedule with occasional night and weekend overtime and on-the-job training as the company grows.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
Minimum 2 years supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, vendor management, and parts management.

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action using manuals and schematics.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
Perform basic welding for facility repairs.
Troubleshoot PLCs and control systems.
Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
Follow blueprints and manufacturer specifications on a documented schedule.
Manage and assign maintenance across shifts and ensure safety compliance.
Utilize a CMMS to track maintenance activities and inventory.
Develop and manage budgets for building and equipment.
