Job summary

Apartment Management Consultants (AMC) is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance team and manage property upkeep, repairs, and preventive tasks. The role includes interviewing and training staff, coordinating vendor work, and ensuring safety compliance across the facility.

On-call and after-hours responsibilities are required. The ideal candidate has knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, strong supervisory experience, and the ability to manage tools,

Qualifications

• Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Ability to operate various hand tools including power tools.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Property maintenance/handyman experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and schedule daily maintenance tasks including preparing vacant units for occupancy and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with interviewing, screening, and making recommendations for maintenance/housekeeping/custodial/grounds personnel.
• Assist in training of service, housekeeping/custodial, or grounds personnel.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Take initiative to improve processes and maintenance methods.
• Maintain MSDS sheets and replacement logs.
• Hold the maintenance team accountable to ensure they meet expectations.
• Schedule and assist in supervision and selection of all vendor work.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and delivery of supplies for service, custodial, and grounds departments.
• Ensure OSHA standards and safety policies are followed.
• Handle lock-outs and 24-hour response to service requests.
• Be available on-call.
• Report unusual circumstances regarding property or residents.
• Remove snow and ice as necessary.
• Ensure necessary tools are on hand.
