Job summary

OAKLAND HOUSING AUTHORITY in Oakland, CA is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to supervise repair and maintenance of dwellings, buildings, grounds and equipment under Property Operations.

The role requires planning, directing, inspecting, and coordinating work, preparing budgets and schedules, ensuring permits and records are accurate, and training staff. Must have 48 college units, 3 years supervisory experience, and CA driver’s license; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Forty-eight (48) general education semester units of college, with courses in engineering or a related field preferred.
• Three years of experience as a skilled or semi-skilled building maintenance worker, with at least two years as supervisor or lead.
• Valid California driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, inspects, and supervises a group of workers in repair and maintenance of dwellings, buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Coordinate work sessions with contractors, vendors and others to develop schedules and review project status.
• Requisitions and obtains materials; maintains records, permits and payments; trains staff in maintenance and safety.
• Maket time and material estimates; assist with budgets; ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Write performance evaluations and oversee personnel actions.
