Job summary

DYS seeks a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 to lead and direct youth workers in performing semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repairs across facilities, including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and associated tasks.

The role entails inspecting buildings, performing preventive maintenance, operating tools, and guiding newer workers. Weekend hours may be required; strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and basic English reading/writing; strong communication skills.
• 12 months of maintenance repair experience or equivalent training.
• Valid CDL if driving regulated equipment; firefighter course requirements in Dept. of Natural Resources context.
• Equivalent substitution for experience may apply but licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise youth workers in semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks.
• Perform carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and related repairs.
• Inspect buildings and equipment, perform preventive maintenance.
• Operate machine tools and welding equipment as needed.
