Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years of experience in building maintenance including skilled trade.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and welding equipment preferred.
• Experience with painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, welding and HVAC.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Experience using forklifts and scissor lifts preferred.
• Understanding preventive maintenance to avoid equipment failures.
• Ability to lead and train maintenance staff.
• Flexible hours with occasional overtime; onsite work environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule daily assignments and projects for maintenance personnel based on requests and schedule.

Overview

Pay Range: $27.00 - 30.00 an hour The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workflow in the maintenance department. Under supervision from the campus, this position assists with directing the work of facility staff. This position also oversees projects and preventative maintenance schedules in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Schedule daily assignments and projects for maintenance personnel based on incoming requests and routine maintenance schedule
• Determine methodologies and materials needed to complete maintenance jobs
• Perform and complete all preventative maintenance performed in their specialty area, consistently tracking the completion
• Assist with supervising maintenance and repairs of campus buildings, painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related service or maintenance activities
• Inspect and evaluate completed work projects
• Assist with supervising department training and performance
• Provide information regarding changes and safety protocols for maintenance procedures
• Make recommendations for facilities purchase orders
• Follow and support compliance with standard safety practices including but not limited to wearing gloves, glasses, or other appropriate Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]
• Other duties as assigned

Quaifications

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in building maintenance that include a skilled trade (required)
• Experience with electrical test equipment and welding equipment (preferred)
• Experience with repair and construction trades (Painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, welding and/or HVAC)
• Basic computer skills (required)
• Experience using forklifts and scissor lifts (preferred)
• Common maintenance practices including construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and welding
• Safe and proper of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and welding tools
• Understanding of how to design and implement preventive maintenance schedules to avoid equipment failures
• Flexibility to address urgent repairs and unexpected issues that may arise during work
• Lead, train, and support a team of maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
