Job summary

Norfolk Naval Shipyard is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Leader in the Production Resources Department 900 to supervise and guide a team of workers across multiple trades in a demanding shipyard environment.

The role involves maintaining vessels, servicing radiological facilities, and coordinating inter-trade work with a focus on safety and quality. A pre-employment physical and security clearance are required for entry on duty.

Qualifications

• Screen-out element: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE.
• Experience in at least two of the listed trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, insulation).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, install/operate electrical fixtures and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead workers in shops and mixed trades to accomplish tasks.
• Monitor operations to ensure procedures and guidelines are followed.
• Service and maintain vessels and radiologically controlled buildings.
