Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Brenham, Texas is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to direct all activities involving installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.

The position is on the 4th shift (Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM) with starting pay of $26.07–$27.15 per hour, DOQ, and opportunities for overtime; benefits include paid hours, step increases at 90 days, 1 year and 2 years, and an annual discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in related field, or progression from Mechanic II.
• Must be able to use tire changing equipment and tools
• Must have knowledge of diesel and gas engines and transmissions
• Must know how to work and diagnose hydraulic systems
• Must be able to trouble shoot DC voltages
• Read and write clearly
• Basic shop math

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities.
• Diagnose, test, disassemble, inspect, repair and re-assemble equipment and vehicles.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic components.
• Replace and adjust mechanical clutches and drive trains.
• Repair worn parts and fabricate fixtures (welding, cutting).
• Record labor and materials for each repair.
• Operate test equipment and use lifting devices safely.
