Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Storage Engineer to manage z/OS storage, SMS routines, and DASD pools. You will troubleshoot space issues, run migrate/archive tasks, and implement client-requested storage changes. The role includes backups, TS7700 grid monitoring, and participation in DR drills.

The position emphasizes on-site collaboration with in-depth knowledge of storage hardware, replication, and IBM grid systems, with a strong on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Experience with z/OS storage management and SMS routines.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic space issues and JCL errors.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily storage management activities for SMS routines and DASD pools.
• Troubleshoot space issues, perform migrate and archive functions.
• Implement routine storage type changes based on client requests.
• Create and maintain core system backups.
• Login and monitor IBM TS7700 grids.
• Lead DR drills and provide direction to drill team members.
• Configure Tape and DASD hardware devices from the device level.
• Peer review all storage changes executed by the team.
• Setup and troubleshoot storage replication (Tape and DASD).
• Troubleshoot IBM grid failures and understand monitoring across clusters.
