Job summary

Liberty Packaging is seeking an Assistant Machine Operator II at our Rock Island, IL facility to support machine operators and help safely produce quality corrugated products. You will assist with setup, perform quality checks, stack orders, and communicate issues to the production team.

The role reports to a Production Supervisor and requires availability for overtime, weekends, and holidays. Prior manufacturing experience and basic math skills are preferred; Lean/Six Sigma exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 1+ year manufacturing experience.
• Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup of orders according to customer specifications and prepare tools.
• Assist machine operators during quality checks by inspecting articles throughout the order to ensure quality product.
• Monitor production metrics to track progress, quality, maintenance needs, and downtime.
• Communicate equipment issues to supervisors and assist with troubleshooting to maximize efficiency.
• Intermittently assist with minor repairs to equipment with maintenance team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following post order cleaning processes.
• Follow plant safety procedures outlined for the machine center.
• Other duties as assigned.
