Job summary

Liberty Packaging in Houston, TX is seeking a Machine Operator II to safely produce quality corrugated products. You will set up orders, run the machine, perform quality checks, and communicate issues as they arise.

You will report to the Production Supervisor and work within a small crew, helping mentor assistants and supporting maintenance with minor repairs. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3+ years in manufacturing or 4+ years manufacturing without education.
• Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/16".
• Computer skills: typing, printing, and data entry.
• Basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read and complete detailed work instructions.
• Must be available for overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up orders according to customer specifications and prepare the right tools.
• Perform quality checks on first article and throughout the order to ensure quality.
• Enter production metrics into a computer system to track progress, quality, maintenance and downtime.
• Communicate equipment issues to leaders, troubleshoot, and problem-solve to maximize efficiency.
• Provide guidance to Assistant Machine Operators as needed.
• Assist with minor repairs to equipment with maintenance team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following post-order cleaning processes.
• Follow plant safety procedures for the machine center.
• Other duties as assigned.
