Job summary

Amteck seeks a Technician 3 to lead and perform hands-on installation, maintenance and repair of low voltage cabling and devices. You will guide a 4–6 person team under a Tech Superintendent, ensuring quality work, safety and client satisfaction.

You will install and test infrastructure, access control, CCTV, Wi-Fi and paging devices, while reading blueprints and adhering to NEC and BICSI standards. Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of verified experience with low voltage systems and cabling.
• Demonstrated experience with ITS, Access Control/Security, CCTV, or Paging systems.
• Experience troubleshooting Copper, Fiber, AV, Cameras, and Access Control/Security systems.
• Ability to obtain Unicam fiber terminations certification.
• Ability to obtain Mini-Com terminations certification.
• Experience with MDF/IDF enclosures, ladder tray, and 2-4 post racks.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics, and data closet enclosures.
• Knowledge of BICSI, ANSI, TIA standards and NEC codes for Low Voltage installations.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of 4-6 technicians installing, repairing, terminating, certifying and troubleshooting low voltage cabling.
• Assist site Superintendent and potentially assume responsibilities as needed.
• Train and supervise other technicians; work with minimal supervision on pathways and installations.
• Install cabling and devices for ITS, Access Control/Security, CCTV, Wi-Fi, and Paging systems.
• Troubleshoot service calls involving Copper, Fiber, AV, CCTV, and Access Control systems.
• Maintain inventory and communicate task schedules and goals to the team.
• Ensure safety, adherence to codes, and proper labeling/dressing of cabling.
