Job summary

Eataly Houston is seeking a Lead Line Cook to transform high-quality ingredients into authentic Italian dishes in a fast-paced, open kitchen. You will oversee other line cooks, portion and plate dishes, and ensure adherence to recipes and health regulations.

This onsite role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays, plus the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Hourly compensation ranges from $22 to $24, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a food preparation position.
• Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees other line cooks and ensures performance standards during service
• Portions, cuts, slices, dips, batters, breads, whips, beats, maintains holding temperature, fries and sautés
• Selects cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game or vegetables to be used for frying or sautéing
• Plates menu items along with appropriate garnish
• Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures, and Department of Health regulations
• Performs other duties as required or assigned
