Job summary

Eataly Downtown is seeking a Lead Line Cook to transform high-quality ingredients into authentic Italian dishes in a fast-paced open kitchen. You will oversee other line cooks, plate dishes with garnish, and ensure adherence to recipes and safety standards.

Available onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods in a bustling dining area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a food preparation position.
• Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees other line cooks and ensures performance standards during service.
• Portions, cuts, slices, dips, batters, breads, whips, beats, maintains holding temperature, fries and sautés.
• Selects cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game or vegetables to be used for frying or sautéing.
• Plates menu items along with appropriate garnish.
• Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures, and Department of Health regulations.
