Job summary

Overture Partners in Boston is seeking a Life Sciences Engineer Supervisor to lead a team of six field engineers supporting a major biopharma campus. The role blends hands-on instrument service with people leadership in a modern lab setting.

You will guide diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and training, while contributing to budgeting and service strategy. Onsite five days a week in the Seaport district, with occasional Cambridge site coverage.

Qualifications

• Industry experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing lab instrumentation.
• Hands-on mass spectrometry service experience across manufacturers.
• Experience with HPLC systems and related analytical instruments.
• Proven track record supervising direct reports and conducting performance reviews.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex instrument issues.
• Ability to coach engineers and transfer specialized knowledge.
• Excellent communication of technical information to engineers and leadership.
• Willingness to work onsite five days per week in Boston Seaport.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of six field engineers and provide regular feedback.
• Oversee daily personnel matters and timecard approvals.
• Serve as primary escalation resource for instrument failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Cross-train engineers on additional instruments and platforms.
• Support equipment lifecycle planning and budget considerations.
• Provide occasional cross-site engineering support in Cambridge.
• Maintain consistent maintenance procedures and equipment performance.
• Coordinate with site leadership on staffing and priorities.
• Balance hands-on work with management duties (about 60/40).
