Job summary

IRMA in Westmont, IL seeks a Supervisor of Liability Claims to lead a claims team and manage general liability matters for public entities. You will supervise investigations, guide complex settlements, and coordinate with legal counsel and leadership to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience handling liability claims and/or litigation.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience managing liability claims and litigation involving municipalities or public entities.
• In-depth knowledge of Illinois law, including the Illinois Tort Immunity Act and Section 1983.
• Experience overseeing complex litigation matters and coordinating with legal counsel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of liability claims adjusters.
• Oversee day-to-day claims operations, investigations, evaluations, and resolutions.
• Review complex claims and support adjusters with coverage questions and litigation matters.
• Promote accountability, professional development, and consistent claims-handling practices.
