Are you an experienced liability claims professional with a strong background in municipal litigation and a passion for leading teams?
The Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA) is seeking a Supervisor of Liability Claims to oversee its general liability claims operations, guide an established team of claims professionals, and play an important role in protecting the interests of public entities throughout Northeastern Illinois.
This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise in liability claims and litigation with hands‑on leadership and strategic decision‑making. You'll work directly with executive leadership and legal counsel, oversee complex and high‑profile claims, and help shape initiatives that strengthen claims operations and improve outcomes for IRMA's members.

The Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA) is a highly respected intergovernmental risk pool serving approximately 70 public entities throughout Northeastern Illinois.
Rather than operating as a traditional insurance carrier, IRMA provides its members with comprehensive public‑entity coverage, claims management, risk management services, and training designed to help municipalities manage exposure and protect their communities.
IRMA takes pride in its long‑standing member relationships, responsive service, and collaborative approach to addressing complex liability and litigation matters.
The organization maintains a close‑knit, supportive working environment where employees are trusted to take ownership of their responsibilities, collaborate across departments, and contribute ideas that improve services for members.
IRMA is seeking an experienced claims leader who combines strong technical knowledge with sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex municipal liability matters.
IRMA recognizes the importance of meaningful work, professional development, and having time for life outside the office.
Employees benefit from a supportive environment where collaboration is encouraged, individual expertise is valued, and flexibility is part of the organizational culture.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of an important claims function while working alongside experienced professionals and organizational leadership.
