Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Irving, Texas is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Leave, Life & Disability, and Absence Programs to serve as our North American SME.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Benefits & Wellness, this role will be responsible for governance, administration, vendor oversight, compliance, and continuous improvement of absence-related programs across the US and Canada. This is a highly influential, operational role requiring independent judgement, strong vendor management

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate leave administration and vendor management.
• In-depth knowledge of US federal/state/provincial leave laws and Canadian standards.
• Experience with Workday Leave of Absence tracking and reporting.
• Ability to manage complex strategic initiatives while maintaining day-to-day operations.
• Bachelor’s degree; professional certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee governance of leave and disability programs across US and Canada.
• Manage TPAs, SLA performance, and billing reconciliations.
• Lead regulatory monitoring and compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with HRBPs, Payroll, Legal, and Operations.
• Audit HRIS data accuracy and annual filings.
