Job summary

University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine seeks a Learning Environments Technical Support Supervisor. This hands-on AV role leads four professionals, supports classes and events, and ensures coverage in showpiece spaces on the Health Sciences Campus in Los Angeles.

The ideal candidate will guide technical service delivery, troubleshoot advanced systems, and align staff with teaching goals while maintaining high-level customer service.

Qualifications

• Specialized training or equivalent experience in AV systems.
• Experience supervising staff, scheduling and coaching.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of integrated AV systems and live events.
• Knowledge of networks, DSP, conferencing and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of Audiovisual Services and supervise four AV professionals.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff with clear expectations.
• Schedule, assign, and prioritize work; ensure timely service delivery.
• Provide advanced hands-on AV support and operate control booths when needed.
• Ensure booth coverage for classes, lectures, and events in two showcase auditoriums.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across control systems, AV-over-IP, livestreaming, and networks.
• Maintain space readiness, ticketing, and knowledge base; document procedures.
• Manage vendors, purchasing, inventory, and lifecycle planning; contribute to budgets.
• Collaborate with Director and IT staff on system design and improvements.
• Build strong relationships with faculty, staff, and guests; deliver high-touch service.
