Job summary

Meta's Production Network Engineering team designs, deploys, and operates large-scale data center and backbone networks to support billions of connections and AI workloads.

You will lead design and strategy, drive automation, own incident response, and mentor engineers to scale network ops for evolving product demand.

Collaboration with architecture, capacity planning, and software teams is essential to optimize observability and tooling in a hyperscale environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating large-scale data center or backbone networks.
• Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) in production.
• Proficiency in Python or scripting for network automation and scaling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of large-scale production network projects spanning data center fabrics, backbone infrastructure, and edge network services.
• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for network reliability, capacity, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement automation frameworks to reduce manual overhead and accelerate network design, build, and config management.
• Own cross-functional incident response and post-incident reviews to drive root cause analyses and systemic improvements.
• Collaborate with architecture, capacity planning, and software teams to align investments with AI/product demand.
• Establish operational standards, runbooks, and monitoring to improve observability and reduce MTTR.
• Mentor engineers and influence tooling and platform decisions across teams.
• Leverage AI-enabled workflows to speed network analysis and documentation.
