Widseth Smith Nolting and Associates Inc. is seeking a Land Surveyor to lead boundary, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and topographic surveys across diverse projects. You will supervise field crews, manage projects, and ensure timelines, budgets, and quality.

The role involves reviewing plats and legal descriptions, using GPS, robotic total stations, laser scanners, UAVs, and collaborating with clients and agencies. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid PLS license.
• 5-8+ years of land surveying experience.
• Knowledge of boundary law and local land use regulations.
• Proficient with surveying software and field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead boundary, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and topographic surveys across diverse project types.
• Supervise and mentor field crews, providing technical direction and professional development.
• Manage survey projects from kickoff through closeout — ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Review and prepare plats, legal descriptions, right-of-way maps, and construction drawings.
• Operate and oversee GPS, robotic total stations, laser scanners, UAVs, and advanced survey technologies.
• Collaborate directly with clients, project managers, engineers, and public agencies.
• Serve as signing surveyor in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Champion safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Continue learning and growing professionally.
