Job summary

Widseth is seeking a licensed Land Surveyor in Minnesota to lead boundary, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and topographic surveys across diverse projects.

You will supervise field crews, manage projects from kickoff to closeout, and review plats, legal descriptions, and ROW maps while collaborating with clients and public agencies. Travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) is required.
• 5-8+ years of land surveying experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Leica or Topcon workflows.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
• Strong knowledge of boundary law, construction surveying, and local land use regulations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as signing surveyor per state licensing requirements.
• Champion safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Continue learning and growing professionally.

What You'll Do

• Lead boundary, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and topographic surveys across diverse project types

• Review and prepare plats, legal descriptions, right-of-way maps, and construction drawings
• Operate and oversee use of GPS, robotic total stations, laser scanners, UAVs, and advanced survey technologies
• Collaborate directly with clients, project managers, engineers, and public agencies
• Serve as signing surveyor in accordance with state licensing requirements
• Champion safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement
• Continue learning and growing professionally

What You Bring

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
• 5-8+ years of land surveying experience
• Strong knowledge of boundary law, construction surveying, and local land use regulations
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Leica or Topcon workflows
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams, projects, and client relationships
• Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
