Job summary

Eaton’s Fuel Emissions team is seeking a Lab Lead Technician in Southfield, MI. This full-time, on-site role operates 7:00 AM–3:30 PM and involves assembling, testing, and evaluating automotive fuel system components using lab equipment and procedures.

The position offers $56,000–$83,000 annually with overtime potential. A minimum of 2 years lab/testing experience and an Associate’s Degree are required; relocation is not offered and candidates within 50 miles of Southfield, MI will be considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of laboratory and/or testing experience.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Experience with blueprint reading, GD&T and metrology equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate engineering equipment as indicated in test requests.
• Prepare samples and perform tests according to test procedures.
• Collect and report data using spreadsheets with clear results.
• Troubleshoot and repair fixtures to complete test requests.
• Handle fuels and chemicals following safe practices.
• Communicate test progress and issues to requestor and leadership.
