Job summary

Eaton’s Fuel Emissions team is seeking a Lab Lead Technician in Southfield, MI. This full-time, on-site role operates 7:00 AM–3:30 PM and involves assembling, testing, and evaluating automotive fuel system components using lab equipment and procedures.

The position offers $56,000–$83,000 annually with overtime potential. A minimum of 2 years lab/testing experience and an Associate’s Degree are required; relocation is not offered and candidates within 50 miles of Southfield, MI will be considered.

Qualifications

Eaton’s IS VEH VGGP division is currently seeking a Lead Technician. This is a full time, on-site position based at our Southfield, MI campus.Core Hours: 7AM-3:30PMThe expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.What you’ll do:Eaton’s Fuel Emissions team is an organization whose mission is to deliver fuel emission products to customers to meet their specifications.The Lab Technician is responsible to employ specialized skills and a high degree of expertise in operation of laboratory equipment such as airflow benches, liquid leak apparatus, durability test equipment, measurement devices and vehicle fuel systems to assemble, test, and assess characteristics of automotive fuel system components in accordance with laboratory procedures and requirements specified in test requests.Maintain a safe, organized, and functional work areaSupport sample procurement by working with lab/prototype coordinators and suppliers.Set-up and operate engineering equipment as indicated in test requests.Prepare samples and perform tests according to test procedures and instructions.Promptly and effectively communicate test progress and problems to requestor and leadership.Trouble-shoot and repair fixtures as needed to complete test request.Collect and report data accurately, providing clear and detailed results using spreadsheets.Perform operations and adjustments with various tools as required.Handle Stoddard, Gasoline and other fuels and chemicals following safe practices.Motivated with strong organizational skills for largely unsupervised completion of test plans.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Overtime will vary based on project workload (5-10 hours per week).Qualifications:Required Basic Qualifications:Minimum High School Diploma and/or GED from an accredited institutionMinimum two (2) years of laboratory and/or testing experienceEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
